Sponge Cake

 

 


 

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ⅓ cup milk (warm)

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line an 8-inch round cake pan with parchment paper.

  2. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt into a bowl. Set aside.

  3. Whip eggs and sugar in a large bowl using an electric mixer for 5-7 minutes until thick and pale.

  4. Add vanilla extract and mix gently.

  5. Fold in dry ingredients gradually, using a spatula, in small batches.

  6. Mix warm milk and melted butter, then gently fold into the batter.

  7. Pour batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
