Pizza Dough
Ingredients:
-
1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes (or tomato puree for smoother sauce)
-
2 tbsp olive oil
-
2–3 garlic cloves, minced
-
1 tsp dried oregano
-
1 tsp dried basil
-
½ tsp onion powder (optional)
-
½ tsp sugar (balances the acidity)
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
Instructions:
-
Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
-
Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant (don’t let it brown).
-
Stir in crushed tomatoes, then add oregano, basil, onion powder, sugar, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
-
Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sauce will thicken slightly.
-
Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
Let it cool before spreading on pizza dough. You can store leftovers in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months.
