Pizza Sauce

Pizza Dough

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes (or tomato puree for smoother sauce)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2–3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • 1 tsp dried basil

  • ½ tsp onion powder (optional)

  • ½ tsp sugar (balances the acidity)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)

Instructions:

  1. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.

  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant (don’t let it brown).

  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, then add oregano, basil, onion powder, sugar, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.

  4. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sauce will thicken slightly.

  5. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.

Let it cool before spreading on pizza dough. You can store leftovers in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months.
